Palm Springs to Vegas

Some would say the weather is too hot this time of year in the desert. But the lack of people easily outweighed the hot day time temps. We started near Palm Springs early Saturday morning and finished in Las Vegas. Sundays itinerary included dirt roads back to Barstow. The total mileage over the two days was around 300 miles of dirt. Group shot on the dry lake. Working our way down from the mountains. Lava Tubes.

BITD Parker 425 with Greene Motorsports

The 2014 desert racing season has kicked off! The first race of the season is the Parker 425. A grueling 425 miles loop race that started and finished in the town of Parker Arizona . Baja Peninsula Run Trip Report, Day Three

Day three's plan was to drive from Punta SanFran to San Ignacio. Day three would be known as a mellow day. Total mileage for the day would be around 125 miles with a stop in the middle to hike up to see the cave paintings near El Arco. We stopped in Vizcaino for lunch and hit San Ignacio around 3pm. After a quick tour of the mission in town we headed back to the hotel for dinner and good nights rest in a bed. Sunrise on the Sea of Cortez. Our camp spot didn't allow for vehicles to be driven on the beach because its a sea turtle nesting site. I think everyone in the group...

Baja Peninsula Run Trip Report, Day Two

For day two we awoke to a beautiful Gonzaga Bay sunrise. The staff at Alfonsinas had made fresh hot coffee waiting for us as we soaked up the view. The plan for the day was to drive to Punta SanFran on the 2012 Baja 1000 race course. The route would take us past Coco's Corner and into the Calamujue wash. After the wash we would head into L.A. Bay for lunch and onto Punta SanFran to camp. The terrain after Coco's started to get really interesting. We had crossed into the infamous Cardon forrest that Baja is famous for. The road was lined with Boojum trees, Chollas and Cardons but thankfully...
